The 2022 adult immunization schedule summarizes the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices’ (ACIP) recommendations on updates to the 2021 immunization schedule for adults age 19 years and older. Vaccine-specific changes in the 2022 immunization schedule include new or updated ACIP recommendations for the following vaccines:

  • Hepatitis B
  • Influenza (flu)
  • Pneumococcal
  • Recombinant zoster
  • COVID-19

ACIP also made changes to clarify language in these vaccination sections:

  • Human papillomavirus (HPV)
  • Measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR)
  • Meningococcal

In addition, ACIP added an appendix listing the contraindications to and precautions for each vaccine to the schedule.
