Brief School-Based Interventions and Behavioral Outcomes for Substance-Using Adolescents

About this resource:

Systematic Review

Source: The Cochrane Collaborative

Last Reviewed: January 2016

In this Cochrane systematic review, the Cochrane Collaborative found that adolescents who get a brief school-based intervention are probably more likely to reduce their drinking and cannabis use than those who don’t get any intervention. However, brief interventions don’t seem to be more effective at reducing drinking and cannabis use than information-only interventions. The brief interventions in the studies were given to individuals or groups in person and included as many as 4 sessions.
