The Community Preventive Services Task Force (CPSTF) recommends full-day kindergarten for low-income and racial/ethnic minority children. CPSTF found that these programs substantially improve reading and math skills — which can affect long-term academic and health-related outcomes —when compared with half-day kindergarten or full-day kindergarten on alternating days only.
