The Community Preventive Services Task Force recommends provider reminders — alone or with other interventions — to increase vaccination rates in people of all ages and from different populations or settings. These reminders inform health care providers when people are due for specific vaccines and can include:

  • Notes posted in people’s charts 
  • Alerts in electronic medical records
  • Letters sent by mail or e-mail
