Healthy People just released a new 5 Things to Know About Health Equity video! Achieving health equity requires valuing everyone equally with focused and ongoing societal efforts to address avoidable inequalities, historical and contemporary injustices, and social determinants of health — and to eliminate disparities in health and health care. This short video emphasizes the importance of health equity in improving national health goals and talks about ways that organizations can use Healthy People 2030 to improve health equity.

As Healthy People has evolved over the decades to reflect the most current science and address the latest public health priorities, it has strengthened its focus on health equity — “the attainment of the highest level of health for all people.” That’s why Healthy People 2030 has a variety of resources to help individuals, organizations, and communities committed to eliminating health disparities and advancing health equity.
