College Basketball Coach

Martin E. Ingelsby was appointed as a member of the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition on March 24, 2023, for a 2-year term.

Mr. Ingelsby is currently the head basketball coach at the University of Delaware and just finished his seventh season leading the Blue Hens. His tenure in Newark is highlighted by Delaware winning the 2022 Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Men’s Basketball Tournament and advancing to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Tournament for the first time in 8 years. He’s a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and was a captain and 3-year starter on the men’s basketball team from 1997 to 2001. After graduation, he spent 13 years on Mike Brey’s coaching staff at Notre Dame helping the Irish to 8 NCAA Tournament appearances and back-to-back Elite Eights in 2015 and 2016. Ingelsby and his wife Colleen have 4 children — Will, Kate, Jack, and Ben — and reside in Wilmington, Delaware.
