Summary

Hundreds of thousands of people in the United States have chronic hepatitis B — and many don’t know it. Untreated chronic hepatitis B can cause liver disease, cirrhosis, liver cancer, and death. Making sure at-risk groups get tested can help people learn they have chronic hepatitis B and get the treatment they need.
