Summary

Adolescents need at least 60 minutes of physical activity a day, and most of that 60 minutes should be aerobic activity. Physical activity improves heart, muscle, bone, and mental health in adolescents. Strategies at the community and family level — and in schools and child care centers — can promote physical activity in adolescents.
