Reduce visual impairment due to diabetic retinopathy
Data Source: National Health Interview Survey (NHIS), CDC/NCHS
Summary
Diabetic retinopathy is a complication of diabetes that can cause vision loss. Nearly half of people with diabetes have diabetic retinopathy, but many of them don’t know it. Strategies to reduce vision loss from diabetic retinopathy include regular dilated eye exams and diabetes management — including regular medical visits, a healthy diet, physical activity, and medication.
