Increase the proportion of students in grades 9 through 12 who get sufficient sleep
Summary
Many high school students don’t get enough sleep. This is linked to an increased risk of physical and mental health problems, alcohol and drug use, motor vehicle crashes, and sports-related injuries. Adolescents who don’t get enough sleep may also do worse in school. Interventions to teach high school students about the importance of sleep may help more adolescents get enough sleep.
